Sexuality[edit]

Its all going on!! "hid" the fact he was gay? Sorry but he never fooled me! —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 84.12.186.119 (talkcontribs) 21:18, 3 January 2007.

Place of birth[edit]

The article lists his place of birth as Llwynypia, however the recent Sun article,[1] refers to him as being from Cwmparc. The two places are about 4 miles apart, Llwynypia being rather the larger; Cwmparc appears to be a village of barely more than a few streets. Can anyone confirm that the article as it stands is correct, or does it need changing? Or is this a case of one being the place of birth, and one the place of residence? DWaterson 22:26, 6 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

His biography page on his website says he grew up in Llwynypia, but doesn't say where he was born.--NeilEvans 23:32, 6 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Technically he would have been born in Llwynypia as it is the local hospital for all people in the Rhondda Valleys, but he would have grown up in Cwmparc. --144.124.16.28 15:00, 16 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I think you will find that everyone from the Rhondda has a birthplace of Llwynypia, as that is where the local maternity ward is based there. But for his age he would have spent only 2/3 days there before returning to his home, at Cwmparc. You will find very few people from the valleys who state they are from Llwynypia just because they were born there. It's a technicality.FruitMonkey (talk) 09:19, 22 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Actually if it helps, I will not be placing H as a notable person from Llwynypia as he's from Cwmparc. Otherwise the Rhondda Valleys will end up with no notable people from any villages apart from Llwynypia. I'd switch it to born at Llwynypia and raised in his hometown of Cwmparc. Hyphen?[edit]

Should the Scott Lee in

'Steps recently said in a recent interview with Digital Spy that they believe there is a gap in the market for their brand of "happy pop". Scott Lee said "Times have changed, but we are in a recession and Steps' music was very light-hearted and fun, so there could be a place for that in today's society," "What else is interesting is that there aren't any boy/girl pop groups out there at the moment, so there's definitely a gap there'

Steps?[edit]

It seems that this is written by his agent to get him acting work. Surely his time in steps and later just with claire is worthy of more information than his minor roles in tv and stage — Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.99.34.34 (talk) 20:38, 5 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Ian "H" Watkins was not in the marines[edit]

In the page for Ian "H" Watkins, it states that he "spent a brief period in the marines." (with a citation needed). He did not spend time in the marines, and a quote from him about the rumour is here: http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/entertainment/celebrity-interviews/h-steps-made-debut-joseph-2240429 It does sound like a rumour that has come up from time to time however so instead of completely removing the text portion above it may be worth changing it to something along the lines of "Despite rumours, he did not spend time in the Royal Marines." Done. Thanks. --Stfg (talk) 22:27, 27 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Namesake[edit]

Prepare for a shit load of vandalism because of someone else called Ian Watkins. Unreal7 (talk) 13:10, 27 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

yeah, the Lostprophets pervert. Trolls have been all over H's Twitter account and Facebook because of the self-admitted pedophile. 68.37.254.48 (talk) 16:53, 27 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Misidentification[edit]

It appears that Mr Watkins has become a social media topic of late due to use of automated blocking software on Twitter. This has been seized upom by transphobes and others, who seem to, as of today, to be confusing him with a different man, a sex offender, who shares his name. This misidentification is noted on this article as beginning in 2013, so it can be assumed that it is public knowledge that H is not the same person, as it is easily searchable. 2A02:6B6E:D8CF:0:D145:AEE0:7D69:3C86 (talk) 21:29, 27 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

"They" became fathers?[edit]

"On 6 March 2016, they became fathers to twin sons, Macsen and Cybi Ryder-Watkins, born via a surrogate"

Presumably this sentence conveys, somewhat indirectly, that one of them supplied the sperm and the nameless "surrogate" supplied the ovum. This would mean that whilst one is the father the other is the adoptive father. 147.148.211.100 (talk) 23:32, 8 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
