Models[edit]

I initially based this page (and also pnictogen hydride) off of hydrogen halide, which has space-filling models of the molecules. Not having at least the space-filing models in this article feels kind of inconsistent, but that's just me. - AwesoMan3000 (talk) 11:14, 20 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I removed the models because at least some had incorrect geometry, even to the naked eye, and were used in a table adjacent to diagrams that had specific geometric data. Unlike the HX, where all we have is a single distance and even most brain-dead modelling programs probably have this specific parameter, here we have angles that apparently do not get modelled correctly. Using high quality and pretty pictures makes them seem even more believable, directly contradicting WP:V of their actual content. And it seems like it's overkill...they're all pretty much the same, excepting a couple of pm and a few degrees. I would support including a 3D of water as the LEDE thumb--a pretty, simple, and lay-recognizeable idea--as it helps hook this technical-sounding article for less specialized readers. I have no objection to including one such image for each series (water for H2X, hydrogen peroxide for the H2X2 section, etc.) DMacks (talk) 11:42, 20 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Livermorium hydride[edit]

The compound H₂Lv is briefly mentioned on Livermorium#Chemical, and since livermorium is *probably* a chalcogen, it deserves at the very least a brief mention here as well in my opinion. - AwesoMan3000 (talk) 21:37, 25 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Uses Section[edit]

This section appears to be a bit worthless. I would be in favor of deleting it as it is 1) rather lame, 2) not exactly correct (hydrogen peroxide aids in oxidations by giving up extra oxygen??). JSR (talk) 21:22, 14 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

pKa and Ka[edit]

Is anyone able to shed some light on the discrapancy, at least for me, between a pKa of 13.995 in the first table (the one with the space filling models) and a value of Ka in the second table 1.8 x 10^-16, which would lead to 15.7 and a tiny bit as pKa for water?T.vanschaik (talk) 22:34, 8 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
