Professor Ahmed Sharif, a famous literary critic, predicted his debut to be the beginning of a great literary career.[edit]

I far as I recall, it wasn't Professor Ahmed Sharif who commended Ahmed's first literary attempts, but rather Ahmed Chhafa. However, this along with most of the claims in the article needs to be substantiated with citations/sources. By the way, Ahmed Sharif wasn't known as "a famous literary critic", but rather an academic dealing with Bengali language.

Ahmed Chofa[edit]

You are right. In the july 25 issue of Weekly 2000, Humayun Ahmed admits to it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mousum (talkcontribs) 21:18, 30 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

POV, other issues[edit]

This article is woefully underreferenced and full of inflated praise (for which no sources are provided). Please improve the article with rigorous editing and the addition of reliable sources. Drmies (talk) 04:53, 28 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

General Issues[edit]

This is a very immaturely written eulogy of an author-producer who is infamous as a predator of young teenage girls coming to him just to be in the company of a celebrity and/or to place themselves in his good books to earn acting roles, at a very heavy price. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 203.112.196.90 (talk) 16:28, 16 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Encyclopaedia of India, Pakistan and Bangladesh[edit]

It has been discovered that this book:

  • Gupta, Om. Encyclopaedia of India, Pakistan and Bangladesh. Gyan Publishing House, 2006. ISBN 8182053897, 9788182053892.

Contains significant amounts of material plagiarized from Wikipedia articles. (Some other books from the same publisher also have this problem). There is no practical way of determining which material came from Wikipedia, and which came from other sources. Further, widespread plagiarism is an indication of poor scholarship. For those reasons, and according to Wikipedia policy, WP:CIRCULAR, I will be deleting all citations to the book. However I will not delete the material that cites it, as there's no indication that the material is inaccurate. For more background, see WP:RSN#Circular references: Gyan Publishing and ISHA Books, or the archive after it goes there.   Will Beback  talk  00:11, 19 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Her mother's (Ayesha Foyez) autobiographic (in Bengali) work will be a relevant source. I'll try to resolve. » nafSadh did say 08:24, 26 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Born place!![edit]

There are difference in the style of writing born place between this article and Marie Curie. Same difference in some other articles. Why? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sajibur (talkcontribs) 08:47, 18 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Improving the bibliography section[edit]

I think it will be great to improve the bibliography section. I have an idea of making a sortable table of all the books with columns for Book series like himu misir ali and others, Or like type of the book and associated characters. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Shparvez001 (talkcontribs) 12:10, 25 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Writing of Humayun Ahmed[edit]

It's a pity, there is no section on Ahmed's writing in his article. IMO, his page has a potential to be as comprehensive as Stephen King's. There can be a subsection on Himu, Misir Ali, one on teenager/children, writings based on 1971 liberation war and others. There can be materials on his pop culture influences (Himu's yellow panjabi, ...), public and critical response (procession on Kothao Keu Nei's Baker bhai), his philanthropy works, Ahmed's once getting sued for defamation, etc. . I know there is a risk of getting into POV and copy edit vio but we can carefully work on that. I could not find many online resources to work on. Does anybody want to collaborate and work together on this? Thanks. Altaf (talk) 23:08, 25 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
