Well I tried to place the information I knew and make a better layout...

You did well! I just tweaked it a little bit to better fit Wikipedia standards. JubalHarshaw 13:54, 30 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I found an existing article under Atreus ... I suggest we merge the two articles. JubalHarshaw 17:38, 30 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Is it worth incoporating that Frank Herbert intended his "House Atreides" appearing in the Dune Chronicles to be descendants of (or at least believe themselves to be descended from) House Atreus? Just a thought. --Anymouse

I've made a few more little modifications, adding in some of the geneology (Niobe, Hippodamia...) that I didn't see here or in the other Atreus article... though a merge would definitely be great!

If the House of Atreus begins with Tantalus, shouldn't the name of this article be changed to the House of Tantalus? Vpw 08:36, 7 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The name House of Atreus is correct and should not be called House of Tantalus. It doesn't work that way in Greek Mythology.

I'd like to add my vote to the person who said that Dune's House of Atreides should be included in the article. Frank Herberts Dune is an important part of world's Literature and certain parts of it's saga deserve to be mentioned on the Wiki-pages. One of them is the idea of a fictional continuation of House Atreus into Atreides. Their eternal suffering is the key of all the Dune books and their various spin-offs. So it would form an interesting addition to the wiki-page: Atreus in Popculture. Greets, GBH
