I just removed this[edit]

I can confirm that Bill Aken tells this story pretty much exactly as above in his book "Carry Your Own Guitar: From Abandoned Child to Legendary Musician - The True Story of Bill Aken" (ISBN-13: 978-1493164295). Unfortunately I don't actually have the book, so can't provide a page number, but maybe someone with access to a copy can use this to source the above properly and return it to the article.
