Where is Hope Valley?[edit]

The name is often used to include Castleton, Hope Hathersage and possibly Grindleford, but to say Cliff College, near Calver is in Hope Valley is stretching things I think. I suspect most people would agree that Hope Valley is best used to describe the Valley from Hathersage to Castleton, or the view from what is known locally as 'Surprise View' on the A6187 at OSGB grid ref SK2082. (I could just as well have suggested the view of the area from Mam Tor as can be seen in the photograph in the article). It could be argued that Hope Valley extends from the sources of the River Noe to the confluence of the Noe and River Derwent at OSGB grid ref SK2082. The OS OL1 map (The Dark Peak) puts the caption for Hope Valley in grid square SK2182. I don't think it has ever been used to refer to the outskirts of Calver. 217.44.136.210 (talk) 17:52, 4 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Removal of image file[edit]

Does the image File:Hope Valley, Derbyshire 201307 079.jpg add anything to the article? The source data has no specific geolocation information associated with it. I am not even sure if it is in the 'Hope Valley'. It looks more like one of the many streams draining Bleaklow which flow into the Woodhead reservoir. Unless someone puts a name to the watercourse or adds other information I am tempted to remove the image. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 217.44.136.210 (talk) 18:18, 4 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
