History of marriage in Great Britain and Ireland[edit]

Though this article is titled 'History of marriage in Great Britain and Ireland' it solely deals with England and Scotland, maybe add more material or rename it? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.37.122.99 (talk) 10:01, 5 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed retitle[edit]

While it contains some interesting information, as it stands the article is not really a "history of marriage" as it only addresses the period c.1200 to c.1500 in England, and then a similar timeframe in Scotland with a few references to the early 19th century. As it's predominantly about the practice of handfasting, should it be renamed to Handfasting, and then the Neopagan term can continue to be a redirect at the top?
