Attention Needed[edit]

This article says it is supposed to be about herpetariums in general, but the History section is about the herpetarium specifically at the Fort Worth Zoo. Donlammers (talk) 11:43, 25 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I have moved this information to the Fort Worth Zoo article. This is now a really short stub. Donlammers (talk) 05:09, 26 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Just wondering what steps one has to take to start a herpetarium?

Page names/moves/redirects[edit]

I had prodded this article and [ophidiarium]] as DICDEFs. Bearian instead merged the two with serpentarium, which seems like a reasonable idea since it's the only one of the three with a smidge of extra information beyond a dicdef. Based on the definitions, it seems like serpentarium is better classified as a type of herpetarium (being more specific to not just reptiles/amphibians but snakes/serpents) and thus the latter the article for which it makes most sense to keep. A confusing distinction seems to be that herpetarium is most often (but not always) used to talk about a structure inside a more general purpose zoo while serpentarium (probably because it's flashier) is more often used for stand-alone reptile zoos. The names themselves don't seem to maintain that distinction, though. --— Rhododendrites talk \\ 21:18, 7 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
