Overly familiar?

In the Production section, Clive Barker is referred to twice by his first name. It makes me suspect it's a direct copy/paste from another source and probably copyrighted material. Comments regarding the plot

You asked for comments so here are mine. I've never seen any of the Hellraiser films.

• Joey is introduced to the pain the box can bring when she witnesses the box's supernatural forces rip apart a teenage clubgoer in a hospital emergency room - how did the box get to the emergency room, I thought you said it was at the club.

• After killing Sandy, Pinhead consumes her flesh - how did he kill her? Isn't he trapped etched into the surface of the pillar?

• He is confronted by Spencer's spirit - how did this happen out of nowhere?

• and 'Doc' (Joey's former cameraman) - maybe introduce him earlier if he appeared with her in a scene you already mentioned (though not that critical).

Yeah, I was afraid that the current plot had these problems. Thanks for commenting. I think part of the problem is that the plot spends so much time describing the demons – a fan favorite aspect of the film series – that we skim over more important parts of the plot. So, you end up with plot points that happen out of nowhere. I think I might have to rewrite this from scratch. Oh well. At least the puzzle box and demons don't seem especially confusing. Well tbh, I have no idea who the demons are or what the box is and does, but for me those are horror tropes and since I've seen horror movies int he past, I'm guessing the demons are bad and the box does horrible things. Maybe for someone not familier with the genre those two would also be a bit confusing. However, Pinhead (Hellraiser) and Cenobite (Hellraiser) have articles so there is not a lot of need to over explain those in the plot. Maybe if the box element is notable enough for a stand alone article, it should have one as it currently points to The Hellbound Heart. --Gonnym (talk) 07:21, 5 August 2018 (UTC)

I could probably pull together enough sources to describe recurring plot elements, such as the puzzle box, in Hellraiser (franchise). Some of the plot elements were more complex in earlier films, but they were simplified and streamlined in this one. This was justified in-universe, such as splitting Pinhead into two people (the good half vs the evil half). This allowed him to be the pure evil demon that studios wanted, avoiding the ambiguity of previous films. So, yeah, these are standard horror tropes, but they have a lot of complex mythology built up around them. I can avoid some of that, I think, by linking to the dedicated articles, as you said.
