COPYVIO[edit]

I think the overlap with the source page http://www.jewish-world.org.il/Roots/English/2/InfoPages/IvrotLastName.asp?Language=English&PageLink=&unit=2&session=3&lesson=2&CF=152&CFS=1.3 is tantamount to WP:COPYVIO. jnestorius(talk) 22:03, 16 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

It is not verbatim and it is sourced. Epson291 (talk) 22:34, 17 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
It's a very close paraphrase of pretty much the entirety of that page. The same quotations are used. IANAL but I question whether a minimal changing of words, plus attribution, is enough to prevent copyright violation. jnestorius(talk) 16:32, 18 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Greif means Griffin not claw[edit]

"Greif (means: "claw", indicating greed and/or miserliness)" Greif is German for Griffin, that's rather a honorable name then a bad name — Preceding unsigned comment added by 85.195.69.112 (talk) 18:58, 12 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

other wrong translation[edit]

quote:"Ausubel (means: from garbage)" - Übel means bad, evil, ill, sick but NOT garbage 22:20, 18 July 2012 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 178.210.114.106 (talk)

Hebraization of surnames[edit]

Those are Anglo-Saxon surnames? Just for clarity. I thought to make a joke about Zebraization (the prey animals zebras) but it seemed both out of place and unnecessary. Speling12345 (talk) 6:56, 27 December 2013 (UTC)

Big omission - first names[edit]

The article only mentions change of family name. As you can see from the Gazette page I just added, which is typical, many people changed their first name too. Some people kept their family name and only changed their first name. I think it would be OR for me to add this on the basis of this primary source but it should be added if there is a good source available. Zerotalk 11:56, 11 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
