I would move the "Plot" section to be the first main section, then I would make "Background" a sub-header under production and break "Production" up into Writing, Filming, etc.

Episode: I think you could combine (as in, just delete the line break between them) a few of the paragraphs so that the section doesn't feel so choppy.

References: Ref 8 states that Jimmy Smits was nominated for the award, but it doesn't prove that it was for this episode. Maybe back it up with another citation
