World of Warcraft[edit]

I have a suspicion that a Hearthstone is something other than a World of Warcraft item.

From a previous version of the page, "A hearthstone is a special item in the computer game, World of Warcraft, that allows the player to return to their home location every hour." I think it's okay to mention that, along with other uses for the term. I have converted the page to a disambiguation page to list its many uses. --doncram (talk) 16:30, 16 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

– No clear primary topic, the video game is probably primary by usage but the stone is probably primary by long-term significance. The video game gets 9,531 views but the stone gets 6,753[[1]]. There is also also a hamlet in England and several places in the US. An alternative target is Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft but it seems that title was dropped but could potentially be used as natural disambiguation per WP:SUBTITLE. Oppose. What even is "the stone"? As I mentioned in the last RM, it seems near impossible to search for such a thing in Google images, due to the preponderance of images relating to the game. And the above page views is comparing Hearthstone the game with Hearth, not Hearthstone, which is a completely different kettle of fish. Oppose. I agree the physical object of hearth is primary, but not to the extent that it'd extend to the merely related term hearthstone. For comparison, consider: online streaming of movies, or, "net flicks", is a primary topic in regards to Netflix, but that doesn't warrant moving Netflix to a different name. I think the Netflix comparison is a bit of a stretch, not least because Net Flicks is currently a redirect to Netflix, and the term "Net Flicks" appears to show no use in the manner you have described. Nom's claim that "the stone gets 6,000 views" is incredibly misleading - as the pageviews shows, the article hearth is what is getting those 6,000 views, of which perhaps 10 of them are specifically interested in the idea of a "hearthstone". Oppose. Hearth and hearthstone are not the same. And also I would deeply oppose any change to move the video game to anything with that subtitle. Oppose - The videogame is clearly the primary topic for "Hearthstone". References to the view count for hearth are simply not helpful here as that is an entirely different topic/article/search. The users proposing to move should show that when users are searching for "hearthstone" they are looking for something other than the video game. Oppose - Misleading to give the hearth pageviews. If they want to read about hearth, they go to hearth. If they want to read about hearthstone, they go to hearthstone. Which is exactly what happens right now.
