No articles?[edit]

Why have disambiguation listings for persons who have no articles existing? Is somebody "planning" on writing articles? See these two listings.

There may be a reason for having a disambiguation for Claud Hatcher as he was connected to "R.C. Cola". But Brian Melville Hatcher doesn't seem to be encyclopedia material. I could be wrong but I just don't see the value of having a listing without an article. Thoughts? --TGC55 18:59, 28 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I agree. The purpose of such a disambig page is to help disambiguate amongst existing articles. I believe having entries for non-existing articles only hinders a reader trying to find an article. If the sought-after article does not exist, that should be clear enough through omission. I'm a little worried that we might discourage the creation of new articles, but I believe that is better done through red links in articles and lists, not disambig pages. --C S (Talk) 06:11, 25 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
