I strongly recommend that this article not be moved to Wiktionary. As it is now it is little more than a definition, but it can bear a great deal of elaboration and fleshing out (like the Allah article). Babajobu 12:54, 22 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

"... particularly as an epithet for the Tetragrammaton, when avoiding God's more formal title, Adonai ('my master')." I'm not sure if I'm misreading this. Jews do not use HaShem to avoid using the title Adonai. HaShem or Adonai are used to avoid saying the personal name of God, JHWH (the Tetragrammaton). — Preceding unsigned comment added by Agbneill (talkcontribs) 05:34, 23 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

What I am trying to say above is better explained in the article "Jehovah" [1] — Preceding unsigned comment added by Agbneill (talkcontribs) 06:07, 23 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

And even better under "Hashem" in https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Names_of_God_in_Judaism#Hashem — Preceding unsigned comment added by Agbneill (talkcontribs) 09:01, 23 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
