Wreck of the HMS Scott[edit]

Today the wreck of the HMS Scott is found approximately 20 nautical miles off the Dutch coast. The wreck it's self lays in an up right position on the sea floor. The stern is in 35 meters of water and the bow lies higher at aprox 28 meters.

Although the wreck it's self is showing the signs of more than 70 years under water, diving the HMS Scott is always a nice experience. What remains today is mostly the keel and the impressive engines. All of the superstructure has fallen away years ago. Until a few years ago one of the deck guns was still raised defiantly pointing up at the sky. Unfortunately one of the harsh winter storms toppled it over.

When diving the wreck one should be aware of the large amounts of ammunitions still found in the wreck. Near stern there are vast numbers of unexploded artillery shells and other munitions. Also the wreck is popular amongst fisherman, so beware of lost hooks and lines during your dive. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Lee Mcsteen (talk • contribs) 11:45, 11 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
