The information in disease associations has many errors. My opinion is that if a disease is linked via linkage disequilbrium, for example DR3 and DQA1*0501, DQB1*0201 one should say DR3 is associated via linkage to DQ. For example, DR11-DQ7/DR7-DQ2 is associated with celiac disease and it produces the same DQ alpha-beta (or very similar) as DQA1*0501:DQB1*0201 as DR3-DQ2 Pdeitiker

I think it might help to reduce confusion to explain (if it is correct!) that the "HLA" in "HLA DR" refers to "Histocompatibility Locus A", not "Human Leukocyte Antigen". However, "HLA DR" is ONE of the areas of human DNA which controls production of Human Leukocyte Antigen (HLA.) If someone can verify this, please add it to the text of the definition.
