Concerns about copy-paste in section Surface encoding gene segments[edit]

Per Wikipedia:Copying text from other sources, there are extensive direct quotes in the section Surface encoding gene segments which may not comply with the guidance that "brief quotations of copyrighted text may be used to illustrate a point, establish context, or attribute a point of view or idea".
