At WikiProject Cornwall we subscribe to the policies laid down by Wikipedia - particularly civility and consensus building. We are aware that the wording on Cornish entries can sometimes be a contentious topic, especially those concerning geography. You don't have to agree with everything but there is no excuse for rudeness and these things are best solved through consensus building and compromise. For more information see WP:CornwallGuideline.
These pages are not platforms for political discussion. Issues relating to Cornish politics should be restricted to those pages that directly deal with these issues (such as Constitutional status of Cornwall, Cornish nationalism, etc) and should not overflow into other articles.
Most of all have fun editing - that's the reason we all do this, right?!
I've got a photograph of what's left of the village, including the cottage "Kenwyn" with the writing sprayed on the wall - I'll post it at some point when I've got time. The article needs more, maybe some information on the opposition to the destruction of the village, a few sources, plus a ton of information on the history of the village, how it came to be, and what was there before it (IE some of the early farmsteads). Not sure on the definition/etymology for the name, so someone else is probably going to have to put that in. I've done a re-edit of this article just to bring it up to date and make it a bit more accurate. Greensplat is one of those lost villages that just slipped quietly away, so it's rather difficult to find any useful information. There are only a handful of living people who remember the place. The last inhabitants were paid nearly twice the property values as an incentive to move, and I'd like to see if I can get in contact with these people to see if they have any interesting tidbits. Greensplat was always a rather poor place so I'm sure the prospect of being given just under half a million pounds each was too good to refuse. As I remember it, run-down outhouses and car-strewn paddocks gave the place a fairly bad reputation on the property market before it's destruction, so I imagine the last people to live there had all been there for quite some time. ▫Bad▫harlick♠ 14:08, 15 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
