References need trimming

By my count, 17 publications from Miriam Kennet in the Reference section and not one citation in the text. This needs work. Moreover, most are missing publication details too. Regards, Robbiemorrison (talk) 20:00, 16 July 2012 (UTC)

While green economics redirects to this page it must have some mention of the theory involved

Unless green economics is restored to the more general treatment of talk:green economics or redirected to ecological economics (possibly a more neutral term for the same thing, except for all the people who think their economics is "greener" for some ideological reason or other), we are going to have to deal with the green economics redirect properly within this article. Text so far for that is inadequate, only two paragraphs giving a bare minimum summary of what someone who knows economics or accounting is going to expect and understand about the "green". Maybe a mention of contributors including say "Miriam Kennet, Volker Heinemann, Murray Bookchin, Lewis Mumford, , Rachel Carson, Brian Tokar, E. F. Schumacher, Robert Costanza" (very important, see Trucost and TEEB which follow his methodology), "Lynn Margulis, David Korten, Buckminster Fuller, Herman Daly, Donella Meadows, Paul Hawken, Amory Lovins, Hunter Lovins, Kirkpatrick Sale, Jane Jacobs, and Robin Hanson" would help.

Green Economics is the study of Green Economies so the redirect is justified. Green Economic Theory should have its own section and be expanded upon. Mkevlar (talk) 15:57, 13 December 2014

Dr. Lange's comment on this article

Dr. Lange has reviewed this Wikipedia page, and provided us with the following comments to improve its quality:

This quote from the initial section
"A feature distinguishing it from prior economic regimes is the direct valuation of natural capital and ecological services as having economic value"
is contradictory to the third paragraph of the "Green economists and economics" section.
In general, I would disagree with the argument that green economics is different than traditional/previous economic regimes but I don't think this is settled in the literature/science.

We hope Wikipedians on this talk page can take advantage of these comments and improve the quality of the article accordingly.

I suggest to add the following period "For a green economy transition to be achieved a decoupling between environmental pressures and economic growth is required ( LINK to the "decopuling page")". ... "For a decopuling to be reached both production and consumption should become sustainable, as suggested by the the European Commission Sustainable Consumption and Production and Sustainable Industrial Policy (SCP/SIP) Action Plan presented in July 2008. Technological change is crucial in this framework (Popp at al. 2010), as environmental technological change
can lead to win-win situations in which improvements in environmental quality are combined with economic growth (EEA, 2014). From the "production side" the invention, adoption and diffusion of environmental innovations, or eco-innovation is crucial (Barbieri et al. 2016, Ghisetti and Pontoni, 2015). From the "consumption side" an increasing role is attributed to eco-labelling, to increase consumers awareness on the green content of the goods and services they buy." 2) Explicit reference to the concept of circular economy as an extension for the green economy transition can be needed. To this respect I suggest to refer to the last EEA report "Circular Economy in Europe", 2016, available here http://www.eea.europa.eu/publications/circular-economy-in-europe. In particular the launch of the Circular Economy package in December 2015 seeks to explicitly boost European competitiveness through new business opportunities and innovative and ‘circular’ means of production and consumption. for this reason I believe it is crucial to mention it when dealing with "green Economy".
3) in "Definition Section" I suggest to add a broader expanation on the concept of green economy. Figure 1.1 at page 5 of the EEA report "Towards a green economy in Europe" (available here http://www.eea.europa.eu/publications/towards-a-green-economy-in-europe) can be very precious

A page on ECO-INNOVATION or ENVIRONMENTAL INNOVATION is suggested.
