Grass Eyot Template[edit]

For someone who only appears to have been editing for less that a month, it seems rather presumptuous to start marking articles for deletion as you did Grass Eyot. This is especially thoughtless as the article had only been created 45 minutes earlier. As it concerns a physical place you should appreciate that verification is in the eyes of the beholder though of course one could quote an atlas for every place on Wikipedia. As for notability it is part of the totallity of information about the River Thames which is of importance to a significant number of people in England. Motmit 17:20, 1 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It's not presumptuous for me to mark articles for deletion at all. Please demonstrate the notability of Grass Eyot. Note, a great many other non-noteworthy articles are deleted (not just marked) within ten minutes. Also note that Wikipedia is not an atlas. Let's try to keep this on the talk page for Grass Eyot. I'm copying our conversation over there.-- Mumia-w-18 17:47, 1 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Also, although the Thames is clearly notable, that notability doesn't automatically transfer to everything the Thames touches. The subject of an article must be noteworthy.-- Mumia-w-18 17:54, 1 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
