This article previously had the tone of a press release. I fixed them, and added notes about former host Tom Bergeron (his article is how I found out about the show in the first place). Realkyhick 05:34, 10 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Cleaned up article a LOT[edit]

Made the article conform to The Wikipedia Manual of Style. Added references. Helped beef up the article a bit, added sections, that sort of thing. Looks much more like a Wikipedia Article should. Still to do:

  • More similar shows. Perhaps a new category:high school quiz shows? anyone? anyone?
  • The rules section needs a reference. I left it in, because it is largely uncontroversial and (from my own personal recollection) acurate as is. But it STILL needs to be referenced.
  • A complete list of hosts and cohosts by date would be nice
  • A complete W/L record of high schools would also be nice (but if it requires Original Research, forget it)
  • More history: Changes in format (didn't it run as a 3-team show for a few years?Maybe I am thinking of another show), other changes?

If anyone makes any of the changes listed above, PROVIDE REFERENCES. This is an encyclopedia, not a personal memory blog. We need references to back up your memories; truth is not enough, it must be verifiable truth. --Jayron32 07:10, 2 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Note on Original Research[edit]

I removed recently added statements on individual scores. I understand that the statements I removed are TRUE; yet truth is not ALL that WikiPedia is built on. It is also built on reliable sources. If we can find a REFERENCE to individual player scoring records, we can put the information back in. Unless and until we can, unfortunately it violates WikiPedia policy to keep it in. Please ready the following policies for more information:

Again, if anyone can find a reference, either on line or in print, we can put the information back in. --Jayron32 04:28, 3 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I appeared on the show in 2002-03 for the Winnacunnet team. I can verify that the score originally posted for that matchup is reliable. Every season finale since then is available on the nhptv.org website; a simple fast-forwarding to the end can access those scores easily. So I believe 2003-04 and onward would be an online reference, and technically, I did not do any original research for my match's score as I was there when it happened.Spell4yr 07:18, 8 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
