State-Wide Office[edit]

I made an edit concerning the statement that governor was the only state-wide elected office. Technically, it is the only one for a position in the state government; however, United States Senator is an office that is elected by the entire state, and as such, is a state-wide elected office. I tried to edit the article to make it pretty clear.

I was trying to emphasize the fact that the Governor is the only state-wide, state-level position. I changed your wording to remove the Senators (it's true, but not relevant re state government) and clarify that we're talking about state level posts. This page was create as part of Wikiproject New Jersey, which is aimed at filling the holes and expanding the details on Wikipedia regarding New Jersey. When does the "acting" get dropped?[edit]

As a purely hypothetical exercise...If the legislation dropping "acting" from the title of any acting governor who serves for than 6 months had existed previously, would Codey's title have been "Governor" back in November 2004 when he first assumed the position because it was expected that he would have served for 14 months? Or, would he have only been able to change his title after he had served the 6 months required by the law (just in case for whatever reason he served less than 6 months)??? Unfortunately (or fortunately), this will never arise due to the 2 provisions of the Constitutional Amendment: Lieutenant Governor starting in 2010 and new succession rules between now and then. Any thoughts???

As I understood it (and reflected this understanding in the article), it would only take effect After six months had transpired. Remember that there are multiple reasons that may have caused Codey to leave office before the six months elapsed, even if it was expected to last far longer. Current cabinet[edit]

I added in a Current cabinet section, syntax modeled after the U.S. cabinet's page. Ideally the departments would be ordered by date of creation, but I can't find the dates for all of them.
