Corrections to Gostivar[edit]

There are many things that i liked to see changed in Gostivar.

It's not in the nature of the Constitution of R. of Macedonia to name the Cities and Towns only in Slavic, therefore all the names of cities, locations should be named in Albanian also. I don’t care if the administrator its not capable to comprehend this. Maybe in his country things are different. Macedonia is a multi-ethnic country and again Slavic (Macedonian) and Albanian are official. I keep saying over and over that this is not me inventing this, its the constitution that allows it. What the world do you want? Do you expect the President to call you or email you to let you know what its a bi-lingual country?

I advise you again to consider this and make the changes so that can reflect the true nature of Macedonia. Optionalize the names in Albanian also. Go to the official website of the municipality gostivari.gov.mk and put some new pictures. Recently there have been some great changes in Gostivar. Look at the pictures. The website is in Macedonian and Albanian. (Unfortunately there's not an English version yet)

Change the percentage of the population as follows:

Albanians 66.6 % (you have 69 % that is incorrect) Macedonians 19.5 % (you have 12 % again incorrect) Turks 9.8 % Roma 3.8% Vllach 0.01% Serb 0.19% Bosnians 0.04% other 0.84%

What do you think??? Comment added by User:Arianitr on 08:04, 9 March 2006.

Welcome back, thanks for making a reasonable effort at discussion this time. My outsider's opinion on the naming: If this place has both a Macedonian and an Albanian name, then both should be given as synonyms in the opening sentence. Further down in the text, when this place or other places are simply mentioned, neither Macedonian nor Albanian forms should take precedence, but whatever form is more common in English, since this is an English-language encyclopedia. Just as, in an article about Belgium, we say neither (French) "Bruxelles" nor (Flemish) "Brussel", but (English) "Brussels". Same goes for the naming of articles, and for links to them. There's a guideline for these sorts of things at Wikipedia:Naming conventions (geographic names). Lukas (T.|@) 08:20, 9 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The Photo is biased and shows a wrong image about the city.

Another thing i would add up is that the Main image on the Article should be replaced, because it depicts Gostivar as a Christian City. I'm not certain ,but the photo might have been put there intentionally as well. Instead of creating religious points of view, i sugges we use a photo that will suit any habitant of Gostivar.

Therefore i think it should be replaced with a new photo, which really shows the new center. Also, that photo doesn't indicate at all that the Center is there. The Church is on the photo, but not the center.

I suggest one of these photos is used, which are from Gostivar's official site.
