Charles Bolender[edit]

This is an utterly inane movie, mostly showing the legs and torsos of young and not-so-young women, but Charles Bolender stands out as the only actor in the whole show who is worth anything. He also has a memorable face; if he were 6'2" he could have been a bigger Bogart. That's aside from Steve McQueen who doesn't really do any acting here. Bolender, although he's only half the size of the rest of the cast, is believable as the carnival owner who tries to solve all issues and deals with the cops (who are portrayed as incompetent and corrupt). IMDB says that somebody with Disney decided they should have a live Mickey Mouse act, and he was the second person to play Mickey Mouse in front of an audience. He was also in a couple of other movies. I think he needs an article of his own, not because he was a "little person" but because he had what it takes, if there are enough references.
