Ghost Security Group vs. GhostSec[edit]

User:Ghost Security BOC was clearly promoting his organization, but they do have one valid point: Ghost Security Group is no longer GhostSec. I'm not quite sure about reliability, but this source gives a rather detailed overview of the two organizations. The International Business Times confirms they are distinct. I'm not quite sure which of them this article should be about; likely the Anonymous-affiliated one, not Ghost Security Group (which should be mentioned as an offshoot). Thoughts? Huon, I'm coming here from VRTS ticket # 2017090610025969, but it's hard to say which group it's discussing. Everything before Special:Diff/727650775 talks about the combined group, and barring some formatting changes nothing has changed since then. I would make the argument that while there was some clear promotional/COI editing, the only major edits to the page (and likely, the only direction notability would go) would be to have the page renamed to Ghost Security Group. Thoughts? Primefac (talk) 21:41, 13 September 2017 (UTC) re-ping because I'm an idiot. Primefac (talk) 21:42, 13 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

why is modern day ghostsec and their details not mentioned here, and how about the clear line that GhostSecGroup is not GhostSec — Preceding unsigned comment added by 188.236.193.233 (talk) 16:10, 8 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

If there are references, we can add it. Primefac (talk) 16:36, 8 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Modern day ghostsec doesn't exist. The ones who call themselves GhostSec on twitter have nothing to do with this group. CtrlSec and WauchulaGhost (ex member of GhostSec) denined having any connection with the new group. According to WauchulaGhost, ghostsec disbanded in 2016 and GhostSecGroup is only functioning.
