Most likely a fake to support the show LOST Either made by the production company or an overzealous fan. The page should be taken down.

The external link recently added, geronimo-jackson.com, is registered to "Domains by Proxy, Inc.", a company that registers domain names for clients so that they can remain anonymous. This suggests that this is either a site maintained by ABC, and that they wised up so that their "hoax" sites aren't as easily traceable to them, or that some enterprising individual has done the same. android79 16:46, 23 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • ABC doesn't register domains by proxy, nor do they register them through Go Daddy. The registration went in on 19-Jan-06, which clearly indicates that the site is pure fan silliness, like the numerous other fake LOST-related sites that sprung up based on elements of the show.—LeFlyman 17:38, 23 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Or that the band did exist, but was extremely obscure. There are a large number of bands that released one album & vanished from sight. Had it not been mentioned on Lost, I would agree that this article fails the test for retention on Wikipedia -- but that mention makes this article worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, whether the group was real, fictitious, or a hoax. This is a problem that needs to be addressed & not swept under the rug with a "nn, delete". -- llywrch 17:32, 23 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • Please read the actual Verifiability requirements for articles on Wikipedia. This is a hoax; not "extremely obscure" but non-existent. A brief mention on a television show does not automatically mean that an article should be created for it; Wikipedia aims to be an encyclopedia, not a fan site dumping ground. —LeFlyman 17:38, 23 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • Further, feel free to do a search on the All Media Guide's "All Music" page. It is the most comprehensive reference source for music on the Internet. There is no entry for "Geronimo Jackson" - this band most certainly does not exist. Danflave 20:02, 23 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • That's a good one. As much as I love allmusic and I frequent it more than any other site, by no means does it contain information about every single band that has ever existed and every single person whose every stepped into a recording studio.--Lairor 05:15, 11 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'll disagree that this article really needs {{hoax}}, but I won't quibble over it, as it's likely to be deleted anyway. android79 17:53, 23 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • The hoax tag is there mostly 'cause the article has already been indexed by Google, so people may come to it thinking that the information is valid (even if fictional). It will take a little while for it to get deleted. The originator of this had only one other article he created, which has since also been deleted as a vanity hoax.—LeFlyman 18:21, 23 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
