Re-write[edit]

The 8th-10th Patrols section here, for much of its content, relies on Herbert Werner's book Iron Coffins.
This book has been subject of discussion on the Werner article talk page and at MILHIST: For the reasons given there, it cannot be accepted as a reliable source for historical fact, though as a personal memoir it is a useful insight into the thoughts and opinions of a German U-boat officer of the time.
I have therefore re-written this section, and confined the content to information that can be substantiated by other, more acceptable, sources. Xyl 54 (talk) 22:31, 13 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
