Magazines?[edit]

In the article it says that Georgie has posed for many magazines, on a google search I couldn't find one. Can somebody cite this please seeing as I couldn't find any evidence to support this. Melmer 18:56, 26 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Have a look at this...[edit]

"It is often argued who is the better looking between Georgie and her fellow presenter, Di Stewart; A recent poll by a popular Men's mag gave Georgie 82% of the vote. It is also noted that Georgie is by far the sexiest female presenter on sky sports news."

Doesn't fit the encyclopedia style of Wikipedia at all. Facts such as her being voted sexiest Sky Sports News reader by a men's magazine (which one?) should be included, I agree. But opinions such as "Georgie is by far the sexiest female presenter..." really shouldn't be there. If someone provides me with information as to which magazine hosted the poll that she got 82% of the vote of, and other information as to her posing in magazines and anything in general about her unquestionable beauty, I'll gladly write a better paragraph than that. Inappropriate paragraph[edit]

"Georgie is unmarried and went to an all-girls boarding school, where she took part in lots and lots of all-girl activities, some of which simply can't be described on a family website, but through the gift of imagination, we can all share in the experience." --- Not really encyclopedic, but pretty sophomoric. Poor grammar, too. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.4.36.69 (talkcontribs) 21:08, 12 January 2007

I have applied numerous CN tags this evening, after a new editor reverted my clean-up edit. Seems like this is more of a lads-mag article than an encyclopedic one! Rgds, - Trident13 21:48, 23 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This line has been included in the article recently:

Controversy was caused on 30 January 2007, when Mark Chapman from BBC Radio 1, stated on-air that Thompson looked like the comedian Harry Hill, referring to the appearance of her blouse.

There is no reference that Mark Chapman called Thompson Harry Hill and there is no reference for the 'controversy'.

The only thing I argue you can include, is her picture. To say she looks like Harry Hill is an opinion, and you the include the opinions of others without including a reference, no matter how obvious it is with a picture. Ie. We could write her that Mark Chapman said she looked like <whatever>. Who are we to know that he said that? It's not verifiable.

The reference "problem" has now been rectified. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Davesmith33 (talkcontribs) 19:55, 6 February 2007
-It needs to be reliable third party reference, for instance, BBC NEWS. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Bladeofgrass (talkcontribs) 11:39, 7 February 2007
I think really that there should be some sort of mention for the Harry Hill incident. For "bladeofgrass" to keep vandalising the page just because he/she didn't like it, isn't really acceptable. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Davesmith33 (talkcontribs) 17:53, 23 February 2007
No, I don't remove it because I don't like it, I remove it because you have never provided a reliable source that it was said, breaking one of the funamental rules of wikipedia.Bladeofgrass 11:13, 25 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
In which case, you may as well remove virtually every page on Wikipedia that doesn't reference every single source. The Harry Hill incident is one piece of information that should be provided. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Davesmith33 (talkcontribs) 14:09, 25 February 2007
No, on pages which are not biographies of living persons, uncited facts should be either marked as requiring a citation, or the information removed. For living people though, this information should be removedb immediately. Please read basic wikipedia policy on attribution. Bladeofgrass 17:54, 25 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Afternoon Report comment[edit]

Who keeps reverting to the sentence 'and only ever presents Afternoon Report'? Not only is that phraseology completely un-encyclopaedic, the second she, god forbid, had a schedule change, it would render the sentence completely false. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Carrliadiere (talkcontribs) 16:47, 15 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Reference query[edit]

The first reference in article, used in 2 places, appears not to mention either of the facts which it is quoted as supporting. May-be the page has changed since it was quoted but the reference fails to give any access details. A replacement reference needs to be attached for these facts.
