Life[edit]

"expecting to stay for only a couple of weeks, he remained for the rest of his life. In 1946 he became a British Citizen. It is reported that being a Jew from Hungary was a factor in his decision"

The way this is written makes it sound as if being a Hungarian Jew was a factor in his taking up UK citizenship - rather than (I suspect) his decision to stay in UK during WW2 Gerard.sugrue (talk) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Gerard.sugrue (talk • contribs) 10:02, 5 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I'm guessing the reading should be: "being a Jew from Hungary was a factor in his decision to become a citizen of somewhere else", not necessarily Britain.

Pronunciation of name[edit]

Doe anyone know whether Mikes anglicised the pronunciation of his surname, to rhyme with "bikes"? Or did he keep to th ehungarian, more or less "mik-esh"? This would be a useful addition to the article, if anyone knows the answer.Tdls (talk) 12:01, 13 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
