Allegations of copying[edit]

It may be interesting to readers to understand that although the subject matter of several of the songs alleged to have been copied from other artists is the same, neither the music nor the lyrics are. By way of example, although Kreisler's "Tauben vergiften in Park" shares the same humorous theme with Tom Lehrer's "Poisoning Pigeons in the Park" (i.e., the juxtaposition of the arrival of a beautiful spring day with an invitation to spend it poisoning pigeons in the park), both the music and the lyrics are quite different -- Lehrer's has a darker tone to it, while Kreisler's is happy and carefree (both using the tone to emphasize the humorous disparity between the spring day and the morbid subject). It's a bit like the two films, "Fail Safe" and "Dr. Strangelove", both of which take the same premise (disruption in the system leads to a possible nuclear war), with one taking it seriously and the other turning it into sardonic comedy. Both are masterpieces.213.137.177.242 (talk) 19:14, 10 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
