General LeeGeneral Lee (disambiguation) – In the same manner that Ulysses S. Grant is the WP:PRIMARYTOPIC of the General Grant (disambiguation) page, so should Robert E. Lee be the primary topic of the General Lee (disambiguation) page. Although there have been other generals surnamed "Grant" and "Lee", the Civil War commanders are the ones who have been historically referenced and known to the public via those forms. — Roman Spinner (talkcontribs) 05:56, 8 March 2021 (UTC) Relisting. ~ Aseleste (t, c, l) 16:53, 15 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support. Robert E. Lee is the primary redirect for General Lee. Rreagan007 (talk) 19:06, 8 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose – No need to add ambiguity this way. Dicklyon (talk) 05:11, 10 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose - Unnecessary; while Robert E Lee is more notable than the car or the song overall I'm not convinced that he's more widely associated with the term "General Lee" than either of those two subjects. HumanBodyPiloter5 (talk) 10:15, 10 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support on grounds of WP:PrimaryTopic "long term significance". GraemeLeggett (talk) 11:22, 10 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • weak support I think Robert is the primary topic based on significance and popularity, though perhaps not by as much as grant outweighs the others. Eddie891 Talk Work 11:26, 10 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose Given pop culture refencies that are lacking with General Grant, no. I am not sure it is a given that someone looking for General Lee may mean that General Lee.Slatersteven (talk) 11:53, 10 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support Never heard of any of the rest: and even, if somehow, one of these is a significant pop culture thing, the only reason that might be is because of the long-term significance of the confederate general, who is undoubtedly the primary topic... RandomCanadian (talk / contribs) 13:48, 10 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Weak support Robert and the car seem to be the two highest-profile ones, and Robert gets primary topic over the car through long term significance. Hog Farm Talk 17:10, 10 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support - a quick look at pageviews suggests Robert E. Lee is the clear primary topic, with around 10x more pageviews than any of the other entries. Parsecboy (talk) 17:14, 10 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support - Robert E. Lee is the primarytopic (except maybe for some Dukes of Hazzard fans where it's probably the car). - wolf 04:39, 11 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose. I'm not convinced Robert E. Lee is referred to as "General Lee" enough to be the primary topic here. He's either Lee or Robert E. Lee. -- Calidum 03:51, 15 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Relisting comment: It looks like the support !votes are based on long-term significance, while the oppose !votes are based on the usage of the term "General Lee". Both are valid for wp: primary topic. Currently there are more support for this move, but extra opinions on this matter may help, so relisting. • Support, long term significance seems enough to redirect. Randy Kryn (talk) 17:11, 15 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Leaning support. It is significant that the car, the "General Lee", is universally understood to be named after Robert E. Lee. BD2412 T 03:14, 16 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
