Posted the pending proclamation of Mar Ivanios as Venerable. I'll place it in present tense once it happens next week. Irish Melkite 06:01, 8 July 2007 (UTC)

There may not be much point to the above addition, as Fram has removed all honorifics from the article, following some kind of WP:OBS if not WP:IDIO, so that whereas the article used to say "He was ordained to the priesthood as 'Fr. P. T. Geevarghese'," we are now told that, "He was ordained to the priesthood as 'P.T. Geevarghese'." NRPanikker (talk) 14:56, 17 September 2008 (UTC)

The term "Servant of God" is part of the name Geevarghese Mar Ivanios. See, St. Augustine and Saint Alphonsa. Simon Cheakkanal (talk) 06:58, 4 November 2008 (UTC)

Well, St. Augustine is a disambiguation page with articles for a few people and locations disambiguated. The famous ancient bishop's article is located at Augustine of Hippo. Regardless, Wikipedia:Naming conventions (Clergy) states that articles about saints (and, by extension, other venerated people) should be entitled "by their most common English name, minus the "Saint", unless they are only recognisable by its inclusion." Hence Father Damien, not Blessed Damien of Molokai; Michael J. McGivney, not Venerable Michael of New Haven, etc. Gentgeen (talk) 07:07, 4 November 2008 (UTC)

In the section on Siver Jubilee celebrations "Mar George Theckedath, the Nazraani Orthodox Missionary Bishop, living now in Ottawa,Canada,and born as a member of the Theckedath family of Kottarakara, for which as mentioned on page 673 of the Quilon District Gazetteer,the anicent church (Valiyapalli)in Kottarakara was built some seven hundred years back by a former Raja of Kottarakara, was ordained priest by Archbishop Mar Ivanios at the Holy Eucharist held on 18 April 1951 on the grounds of the Sacred Heart church,Adoor,Kollam district,Kerala,to celebrate the silver jubilee of his epscopal consecration.Bishop Mathew Kavukatt of Changanacherry and bishop Mar Sebastian Vayalil of Palai also were present at this eucharistic celebration." this sentence seems to be absolutely out of context and a simple google serach will suggest that the person mentioned is one engaged in self-promotion. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 111.92.8.115 (talk) 01:39, 26 October 2011 (UTC)
