A brief explanation of the significant clean-up I'm doing on this article.[edit]

I have been revising the article throughout, correcting: punctuation errors, grammar errors, formatting errors (unitalicized film titles), and idiosyncratic diction. I don't expect anyone of those edits to be controversial.

More substantively, I've made significant edits to try to establish a neutral point-of-view (NPOV). When I came to this article, it read as if it had been written by a worshipful fan and was full of adulatory hyperboles and superlatives (Gazi was the greatest lyricist of all-time, the movies he writes for are the greatest Bangladeshi movies ever, the singers who record his songs are the best singers of all time, etc, etc.) And that's just not encyclopedic and it's not neutral. So I've stripped away a lot of these superlatives (especially the descriptions of hits as being "evergreen", "chartbusting", "thrashing", and "alltime" [sic]) and removed whole sentences if they were just unsourced assertions about the greatness of Gazi, his associates, and his songs. These sentences are profoundly POV and they don't convey any actual information.

I hope the article is better for my efforts. Anyone is of course welcome to tweak it, but I would just ask them to bear in mind the neutral point-of-view and the verifiability which are key principles of Wikipedia. Tigercompanion25 (talk) 22:52, 19 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Bizbdnews not a reliable source[edit]

The source for nearly the entire article is bizbdnews.com. I can't find the organization on any list of accredited media in Bangladesh. It describes itself as owned and edited by Rashidul Hasan Bulbul, who is also the registrant for the website. I can't find any record of him working in journalism.

Bizbdnews advertizes for unpaid volunteer contributors, roughly translated: "Young, budding writers who are looking to play online or on the Internet, looking for a platform to express themselves ... the following qualifications would be required: 1. Know how to type on the computer. 2. Have a general idea of what to write on the subject. 3. Must have an interest in writing and learning." These are not the hallmarks of a professional source with a reputation for fact-checking and accuracy.

Bizbdnews's English language content is largely republished press releases and agency reports, with the balance being self-published/user-generated. The cited bizbdnews.com article does not fit Wikipedia's definition of a reliable source, and should not be used. Worldbruce (talk) 01:43, 14 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
