If the sections in question for the copyright violation tag would be made known to me, I will work to resolve the issue. Battlemonk (talk) 02:35, 30 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

File:Steampunk-falksen.jpg to appear as POTD soon[edit]

Hello! This is a note to let the editors of this article know that File:Steampunk-falksen.jpg will be appearing as picture of the day on July 31, 2012. You can view and edit the POTD blurb at Template:POTD/2012-07-31. If this article needs any attention or maintenance, it would be preferable if that could be done before its appearance on the Main Page so Wikipedia doesn't look bad. :) Thanks! howcheng {chat} 17:15, 27 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

G. D. Falksen
American writer and essayist G. D. Falksen wearing steampunk attire, reflecting the genre of fiction for which he is best known. His work includes several short stories and a novel released in July 2011. His large number of articles on the genre have led him to be called "America's authority on the movement" and "the unofficial face of Steampunk".Photo: Tyrus Flynn

POV?[edit]

Is it me or is this bio a little bit strong in the way it presents the subject -- as an example: "His large number of articles on the genre have garnered mainstream attention:" Aren't all articles on wikipedia because their subjects 'have garnered mainstream attention'? Also, this quote has a reference to an SF Gate Article (San Fran Chronicle site) where he is among many other people quoted and mentioned. While the article does talk about the mainstreaming of steampunk, it does not do it in the context of saying that GD has garnered mainstream attention, the implication then seems to be that SFGate/The San Fran Chronicle is a 'mainstream' publication and since it's quoting him, hence he has 'garnered mainstream attention'. However, if that is the case, then doesn't it by it's very nature imply that most if not all of the other references are not 'mainstream' sources? Centerone (talk) 02:42, 1 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Expanded lede[edit]

The lede for this article needs to be expanded out to at least a paragraph in length. Perhaps someone more versed in the subject could work on citing some of his more popular works, and the importance of the author to the Steampunk genre. A couple more sentences with a quick overview of the history and importance of the subject would go a long way to getting rid of that last maintenance tag.
