I find this sentence fairly ridiculous.
Be-Bop came along, with a ridiculous band name, when progressive was already on the wane, and they were not terribly amazing. Progressive was the style of choice among my contemporaries; Be-Bop had some currency, but not a great deal. I personally bought Futurama on LP circa 1979 or 1980 and was underwhelmed. I personally think of Axe Victim as the best one.
That sentence sounds like excuse-making.

It looks like that sentence was derived by cherry-picking from the original article: "Every month -- or is it week? -- seems to bring a new rock band from Britain, eager to catch a few leftover crumbs from the Anglophilia of the 1960's." and so on. The fairly strong argument this is distilled into is not substantiated in any way by that article. Removing... --JeR (talk) 23:54, 5 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

To be honest, I am less interested in personal opinion and OR and so have reverted the removal. The quotes and paraphrasing are accurately quotes and cited.
