Founding date clarification

"Fuller's 1845 is a strong Bottle-conditioned beer. It was first brewed in 1995 to celebrate Fuller's 150th anniversary," the article says, but the side panel indicates that it was opened in 1711. What happened in 1711? What happened in 1845? I think the article needs some clarification in this regard. Fullers company promotional materials (beermats/coasters) indicate that it was founded in 1845. Morland Brewery, Oxfordshire, was reportedly formed in 1711. Is it possible we have some sort of crossed info here? Oswald Glinkmeyer 22:07, 22 May 2006 (UTC)

I was wondering if it was a reference to when the Brewery itself opened (it predates Fuller Smith and Turner) but according to British-history.ac.uk it is older than that. Bods 08:23, 6 August 2006 (UTC)

  • This is from Fullers' website:

Although brewing dates back to 1654 at Griffin Brewery on the banks of the River Thames, the partnership of Fuller, Smith And Turner was formed in 1845. Jess Cully 01:23, 24 November 2006 (UTC)

Reads like an advertisement

The article sounds just like an advert for beer - I think this is worth putting a note about. it also repeats favourable attributes about the company (acquisition of George Gale and prizes for product) . I disclose the interest that I have consumed Fullers London Pride as one of my favourite beers for approximately 30 years but I deem this article to fall short of impartiality standards. ( no references to other major London breweries ( Youngs, Trueman, Whitbread etc)— Preceding unsigned comment added by Futile Crush (talkcontribs) 19:32, 22 October 2012 (UTC)

I'm afraid that statement remains true. I will remove the unwarranted and undue list (Wikipedia is not a catalogue, and advertising is not permitted), leaving independently and reliably cited items. Beer drinkers will still be able to follow the link to the brewer's admirable list of beers. Chiswick Chap (talk) 07:00, 21 May 2015 (UTC)
