Correct spelling of first name[edit]

There has been an issue raised by user:Quadrabev about the spelling of the artist's first name. The Getty ULAN and Worldcat indicate that the K should be included as the preferred form of name, so I believe it is correct to keep that spelling until it changes in those sources. However, the artist's own passport application apparently omits the K, which is interesting. Maybe it is worth adding something to the article itself that highlights the fact that the "correct" spelling is subject to debate by scholars? @Sarasays and Quadrabev: Quadrabev's first few edit summaries said "Correct spelling ("Frederic") confirmed through U.S. Passport applications available via ancestry.com". That's not a good way to source this. They need to provide either a more direct link or the image they've apparently seen. Further edit summaries said "A U.S. passport signed by the person in question is considered a primary source and would supersede WorldCat" and that's exactly incorrect. WP:PRIMARY says "Wikipedia articles should be based on reliable, published secondary sources and, to a lesser extent, on tertiary sources and primary sources." Per User:Train2104's edit summary from February 15th, WorldCat is reliable. City Of Silver 18:58, 1 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
