Feedback: Vernacular and Content[edit]

I can imagine a decent number of visitors to this "Frailty Syndrome" page would have the goals of not only (1) learning more about the syndrome, but (2) also looking for particular treatment modalities. Predictors for visiting this page may also involve having or knowing someone who has Frailty Syndrome.

Given these goals, it may be beneficial to improve health literacy by revising the vernacular to be less academic. Further explanation, or short descriptions after a health term, can be beneficial.

Peer review: The page has been greatly improved by your team's focus on elaborating on non-surgical interventions, prevention, and ongoing research studies, as stated in your CIC work-plan. Echoing previous feedback, I agree that medical jargon can be explained in more commonly understandable language, especially in the sections on geriatric syndromes and physiological mechanisms. Exercise is especially important with regards to both prevention as well as non-surgical management of frailty syndrome. Consider elaborating on the specific kinds of exercises and routines that would counter frailty syndrome, drawing from recommendations using national guidelines (ie from the US Preventive Task Force). Another idea would be to describe fall risks (a great cause of morbidity and mortality relevant to frailty syndrome), and how to mitigate fall risk. The sources you used in your edits are reputable and recent, and I would focus on adding more publications from recent years, especially since the original sources from before your edits tend to be older. Overall, great job with the edits! (User:20atang)

I think you all have done an excellent job modifying the page! I do think it would perhaps be helpful to expand on the mechanisms of non-surgical management, make the details more granular, and relate this management towards improving surgical outcomes (i.e. discussing how improving frailty cause mitigate adverse surgical outcomes).
