Disinfopedia as a reference?[edit]

I have to question the link to the Disinfopedia page for the subject of this article. Here's my understanding of WP's policy on what a reliable source is, "Anyone can create a website or pay to have a book published, then claim to be an expert in a certain field. For that reason, self-published books, newsletters, personal websites, open wikis, blogs, forum postings, and similar sources are largely not acceptable."

The linked-to article may have some good information but, if so, I recommend that it be sourced independently, because the referenced article itself seems, to me, to not succeed at an encyclopedic or unbiased representation of its subject. For example, it contains this interjection when commenting on the organization, "apparently in all seriousness" and a tone that I think might be characterized as asserting a distinctive POV toward the organization to which, surely, Disinfopedia and its publishers have every right but which strikes me as not being in line with WP's goals. Balance in the article[edit]

The section on funding sources seems to me to take up overly much of the content of the page. It also refers only to funding from 2005 for an organization that has been around for what looks like at least 15 years. I'd like to add more information about the organization and what it does, versus spending about 30% of the article's content on its funding for one of the years (3 years ago) it has been in existence. But that still doesn't solve the problem of the non-notability of that funding section. If this article is going to include a run-down of funding for a more recent year, that makes sense. But it also imposes an obligation on future editors to keep such a section updated and given that the fact that the current funding section about 2005 funding has never been updated, this may not occur. Thoughts? Bonitammmm (talk) 13:04, 29 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
