How is this engine used in the Caterham Seven? Any ideas?

Plastic intake manifold

"When the Zetec-SE first arrived in 1995 it included many firsts, such as a plastic inlet manifold" My 1992 BMW 525 ( M50 motor ) had a plastic intake manifold.
