Confused by trim levels and mod-cons[edit]

The article had this text in it:

"This Mondeo simplified trim levels a lot, for example the UK trims had been simplified down to LX, Zetec, Zetec S, Ghia, Ghia X and ST. Despite this, a facelift in 2003 saw the introduction of some new trim levels. Titanium and Titanium X slotted in between Zetec S and Ghia, and ST220 slotted in above ST".

This is of very little use. Could we have a table of engine, transmission, trim, features (all round e-windows etc.) options please? I still don't know what an "Edge" or "Graphite" is and whether it has better spec than the LX, Zetec, Titanium. In this way the article is out of date.

No doubt Ford love all this confusion. TheCampaignForRealPhysics (talk) 22:20, 26 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

New Edge[edit]

The Article states, and I quote, "Ford abandoned its New Edge design theme for the second generation", however, I was very much under the impression that the Mk3 Mondeo (2000) was very much New Edge and fitted in with the Mk1 Focus (1998) and the Mk6 Fiesta (2002). The HonestJohn article entitled "Future Classic: Ford Mondeo Mk 3" explicitly states that that Mondeo had New Edge styling and its launch in 2000 is right between the '98 Focus and '02 Mk6 Fiesta. The Mk2 Mondeo certainly didn't feature New Edge styling as that was just a Mk1 Mondeo with more bulbous lamps front and rear. Can I suggested that this is corrected accordingly (along with the New Edge Wiki article).

Production time[edit]

It seems that this generation of Mondeo started to be produced in October 2000, but at which time was this Mondeo designed and planned to be in production? I have read that this Mondeo was planned already in 1999, but the production of this Mondeo started first in October 2000, although Ford designed this second generation of Mondeo as early as in 1999 or even 1998. Was it not possible to start the production of this Mondeo earlier, in April or May 2000? 212.100.101.104 (talk) 21:50, 8 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
