Untitled[edit]

Hi All,

I represent the Ford EXP & Mercury LN7 Owners Club. I've been watching this Wiki page on and off for awhile now and I finally decided that the whole thing really needed to be redone to include a lot of missing history as well as to correct a number of misconceptions about the car.

The timing is actually very good as we have just put something very similar together for our 2007 25th Anniversary Calendar.

As a group we strive to maintain an accurate history of the car. We normally will not publish anything without extensive research and verification from reputable sources. The article I posted has been compiled from numerous sources including Dealer Sales Brochures, Magazine Articles, Sales Advertisements, The Standard Catalog of Ford 1903-2003 and similar related materials.

Our members will be reviewing the article to ensure it's accuracy as well.

As I am unfamiliar with all of the Wiki editing tools, I would ask your help in properly linking the article to other wikis and such.

I am happy to discuss any items that some may wish to debate; for example I saw a reference in the history regarding the EXP's relation to the Fiero's. In this case we have several documented sources that show that the EXP was in fact considered a direct competitor to the Fiero.

Thanks -- Drifter

Drifter, you are obviously biased, you even state above that you are a rep for the EXP club.--BeckiGreen (talk) 23:05, 24 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Dude, Be Just, Stay Calm and Fear Not. I was in the club (not a gang...it's a club) and he might bother to vet that fact. He walked away from me only after Facebook membership requirement. (Sorry man, nothing against your decision. I was just an early adopter of EULA vetting and knew by taking time to check Zuckerguy, I could detect his intention. Lucky me huh?). This guy was, at the very least, there already then. I posses everything Ford Shop Manual or other available to current, I hope, for '83 model EXP until mid '85 1/2 jump, and that it is at the very least similar, to all type 1 model specs. Exception, Turbo model that was NOT available to general public until official '84 model year release. [1] HE WAS THERE AT LEAST. I'm still here watching from shadows. He's not a bobblehead. [2]. Good place to start only suggestion. Sorry to notice dude, not personal as I don't know you. Only to say as a notion to suggest to everyone out there, check gear prior to clutch dump :-}. Reads like a fan page.[edit]

This article reads like a fan page. Which is now obvious by the poster above me. Lines like "The last of the EXPs was rolled off of the assembly line and into obscurity" don't sound very encyclopedic.--72.154.244.111 (talk) 21:55, 17 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Wow! I came here to say that this does read like a fan page but someone already beat me to it. I am going to start rewriting on this sometime before next week.--98.87.55.207 (talk) 17:21, 21 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I also noticed that all the links go to a fan page. I'm pretty sure that is considered original research and not going to work--98.87.55.207 (talk) 17:25, 21 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I worked on the original EXP and LN7 launch, filming each vehicle for use in dealership advertising. At the time, we heard the story that the vehicles originally had rear seats but they were removed when a Ford executive was sitting in the back seat and someone slammed the hatchback down and gave the exec a concussion. True? I have no idea. -dtm323 — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dtm323 (talkcontribs) 18:57, 15 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry you don't know history, but I was in Troy Mi. working full time since '83 as a "day job" while still in school and saw, with my own eyes, proof at American Sunroof Corp. out in Brighton Mi. and it would sound like bragging to vet that statement. p.s. it's a Thank You formal reference from ASC corporate for my help. ASC's corporate rep was only too anxious to walk me around to show-off their particular contributions to the effort. I was in charge of testing parts for Ford's(yeah...possessive but correct) Motor Company for a body component supplier. I also saw, also first hand, where Andy's Boys helped Ford do "stuff" at St. Thomas. They assembled my EXP there by hand and the drivers strut tower stamped build date reads 9 24 02 and it's "B" pillar build date reads T1. Took a lot of effort to locate, but I have owned and guarded mine for 29 years. I'm watching from the shadows and there are no incorrect assumptions I've found. I know it, but hope that helps your hunt and interest. Retired for years but still... E.O.T.Techniti (talk) 00:44, 5 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
