Focke-Wulf Fw 238 → Focke-Wulf Nr.238 – Although the Focke-Wulf long-range bomber designs of 1941 have been referred to as Fw 238 in some sources, the book Luftwaffe Secret Projects: Strategic Bombers 1935-1945 and Dan Sharp's bookazine Luftwaffe: Secret Bombers of the Third Reich note that the BMW 803-powered and BMW 801-powered four-engined Focke-Wulf Fernkampfflugzeug designs were never designated Fw 238, and that Fw 238 is a fictitious designation derived from drawing Nr. 238 for these projects.
