Not married in real life[edit]

The plot synopsis says, "with the help of her husband St. Clair Bayfield".

If the film depicts them as being married then this is fine, but in real life, Bayfield and Jenkins were not married. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Newzild (talkcontribs) 23:29, 4 July 2016 (UTC)

Yes, they were unmarried in real life. But the film does present the description of married on at least two occasions. Perhaps a footnote could clarify. Martinevans123 (talk) 11:03, 6 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Actual plot missed?[edit]

During the Carnegie Hall recital, when the New York Post critic walks out, St. Clair Bayfield stops him on the stairs and makes the point, which he made previously, that the pleasure Foster-Jenkins and the audience is taking from the singing is more important than the quality. The journalist responds, "Not to Me!". Then walks off.

This is surely the point of the film, a plausible explanation why, Foster-Jenkins chose to pursue singing.

It makes sense of the film, the story and the real life of Foster-Jenkins. surfingus (talk) 10:16, 6 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
