History[edit]

This article is an outgrowth of my article

which spawned my project page here:

The title was suggested by admin Will Beback. -- Fyslee/talk 08:24, 25 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Formatting suggestion[edit]

Have you considered putting the various names right under the pictures instead of in a separate table? ·:·Will Beback ·:· 08:25, 30 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sounds good. I'll start and we can see how it looks. -- Fyslee/talk 11:05, 11 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Swell. I think this will end up being a useful nature guide, and might be imitated for other ecosystems. ·:· Will Beback ·:· 17:59, 11 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I hope it will gain acceptance. As a child I read World Book Encyclopedia nearly cover to cover, as well as National Geographic. IIRC World Book had such pages that acted as "Grand Central" stations for information, spurring interest in reading the appropriate articles. We're talking about bytes here, so such lists and galleries can only be an asset to Wikipedia and the search for knowledge. People search for information using different methods, and some people will find this method an advantage. Those who don't find this method appealing to themselves don't need to delete it and deny others the option. We need to provide various options for people. -- Fyslee/talk 14:36, 12 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Flora and fauna of Greenland[edit]

Copied from my talk page.

Did you ever finish "Flora and fauna of Greenland"? (I'm clearing out my watchlist and came across the name. I'd actually thought of it a few months ago, recalling the good photos and captions.) I'm not sure where guidebooks belong in the "wiki-" universe, but I'm sure it's a central position. ·:· Will Beback ·:· 10:56, 22 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Here it is: User:Fyslee/Flora and fauna of Greenland. What needs to be done to make it public? Is it okay as it is? -- Fyslee / talk 14:02, 22 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I think it looks great. All it would need are some categories. ·:· Will Beback ·:· 17:40, 22 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Okay....launching....1...2...3...Flora and fauna of Greenland Fireworks!!!!! -- Fyslee / talk 03:28, 23 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This has been sitting in my user space for a long time and now it can be improved by other users. Please add more information to make this a good resource to our readers. -- Fyslee / talk 03:32, 23 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Reconsider structure[edit]

Please reconsider the structure of this article to fit in with the other Flora and fauna articles specific to certain countries. As it is now, it's simply a gallery, something similar to what Wikimedia Commons would host. Wikipedia is not a mere collection of photographs. --Rkitko (talk) 02:58, 13 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I placed it here after some admins considered it good enough for this purpose. If it could be structured better, then that would certainly be in order. You are welcome to start. Please suggest some examples to model it after. What other articles are you thinking of? -- Fyslee / talk 03:48, 13 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
List of palms of the Caribbean is a Featured List, which presumably makes it a good model to follow. It contains both photographs and somewhat detailed descriptions. I do not know the norms for Wikiproject:Biology or whatever, though. - Eldereft (cont.) 06:24, 13 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Native Forest of Greenland[edit]

The article states that there is no native forest on the island, however this appears to be incorrect. Qinngua Valley is stated to be the only forest on the island, located near Tasiusaq, Kujalleq --Mnidjm (talk) 20:37, 19 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
