Longest flag?[edit]

This flag is 27,27 % (or so) longer than the Union Jack, flag of Canada, Equador, and so on. Almost twice as long as the flag of Denmark. Is that the longest for any country on earth? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.89.69.144 (talk) 23:47, 6 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Colour of Qatar's flag[edit]

I have changed all the word "purple" in describing the colour of the Qatari flag into maroon as firstly, the references stated the word maroon several times, and secondly, the colour "maroon" is generally more common in describing the colour of the Qatar's flag than purple. Although they may look almost the same, the colour "purple" may be deceiving if compared with maroon, especially to those who never see a real Qatar's flag before, please kindly see here for the differences. Many thanks Kangxi Emperor (talk) 18:13, 21 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hate to nitpick, but the color of Qatar's flag is actually burgundy and not maroon. There is a slight, yet distinct difference.

Is there actually a standard shade of maroon/burgundy specified? I've seen instances (like in this photo at UN headquarters) where it is so dark it almost looks black. 68.37.161.91 (talk) 10:18, 4 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Only flag with a width more than twice its height[edit]

I wanted to note that the sentence

which was added in July by AxleHelios, marked with {{cn}} and {{huh}} in September by Kintetsubuffalo, and partly deleted today by Blackguard SF, seems to be taken from the list of flags by aspect ratio in my userspace. As for whether it should be in the article, I don't think the note about the flag of Rwanda needs to stay, as the ratio of the Rwandan flag is officially defined at 2:3. According to FotW, the 6:13 ratio was "a mistake by the Rwandan Embassy in Paris" which has been copied by some other websites. SiBr4 (talk) 22:45, 24 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the clarification. Nice list you got there. And I agree, Rwanda's goof doesn't need mention on a Qatar article. Blackguard 22:57, 24 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Image of flag around 1936[edit]

The Arabic name of Qatar in the image from 1936 is back to front. For those who can't read Arabic, this should be clear if you compare it with the first phrase at the beginning of the article ("The flag of Qatar (Arabic: علم قطر‎..." The word immediately following "Arabic" is the name of the country.) I have no idea how to correct this, or even whether it was intended to look this way (maybe because of the way the flag was flown, or something?). — Preceding unsigned comment added by 109.147.222.91 (talk) 15:24, 19 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I believe you are completely correct. I can't figure out how to fix it though since I'm not sure how to save and re-upload the file as an SVG. Elspamo4 (talk) 20:13, 19 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
