Sprachbund[edit]

Hi again @Zoeperkoe:. The part you removed seems quite relevant [1]. Is it really copyvio? Maybe we can rephrase if there is such issue? पाटलिपुत्र Pat (talk) 08:51, 2 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

In the past, exactly the same section with the exact same words and references has been added to many (dozens?) of articles in Wikipedia. And yes, as phrased in this way it was a copyvio from a book. Second, I would say that information about what languages were spoken in Sumer is not really relevant in a section about a dynasty of rulers. So removing it here does not really remove anything relevant from this article. Finally, I am actually uncertain whether this whole point of view about there being a "sprachbund" is actually a well-supported fact or not, or whether it is the view of one Assyriologist (although not the least of them, iirc). If anything about a sprachbund should be re-added to Wikipedia, it should be at the article of Sumer itself, and/or in the article about Sumerian as a language, I would argue. Fine with me. For what I know, it does seem that there was a lot of cross-influence between the two languages. It would be nice to find a good source on that one day... पाटलिपुत्र Pat (talk) 09:23, 2 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
