This article has been described as a part of the Race to the Sea apparently because of an article formerly placed in External links section, http://www.historyofwar.org/articles/battles_artoisI.html. However, the skirmishes at Artois (September–October 1914) to which this website article refers are not/were not defined as the "First Battle of Artois". That title is given to a later encounter, a French assault in December 1914. I've added 4 references. SteveStrummer (talk) 18:48, 23 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
