Re-assessment[edit]

Reduced to stub, given the general lack of information. Both sections could use expansion, if possible, though adding more history would be sufficient to make this start-class. --Core desat 00:13, 30 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Removed climate change comment[edit]

I removed the following from the end of the "Tropical cyclone forecasting" section:

The effect of global warming will mean the sea levels will rise, drowning many islands in the next few decades. Mass migration to perhaps New Zealand and Australia may then occur.

This is at best tangentially related to the Fiji Meteorological Service. If there's a connection between possibly rising sea levels and tropical cyclone forecasting, it needs to be made more explicit, and a citation needs to be provided. The population migration comment is not relevant to the topic of this article and is speculative. James A. Stewart (talk) 20:34, 26 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
