Feminization of Poverty

I was wondering if perhaps someone might consitor writing or at least alluding to feminization in the context of concepts such as "The Feminization of Poverty" <http://www.un.org/womenwatch/daw/followup/session/presskit/fs1.htm> or "The Feminization of Cyberspace" <http://feminism.eserver.org/feminization-of-cyberspace.txt>. I think the way in which feminization is discussed in this article ignores that perhap the places where it is most commonly used.

Needs much work

The article is barely a stub and needs a great deal of work. First, as the article suggests, but poorly, is that people who undergo feminization do so for a variety of reasons. These should be broken into sepewrate sections, as the psychological motivations are quite different.

• As part of gender reassignment, a voluntary choice for men who feel they really are female.
• As part of a sexual fetish, related to Cross-dressing, Transvestism and Transvestic fetishism)
• As an act of obedience, and sometimes humiliation, in a D/s BDSM relationship.
• As an expression of gay male culture, (see drag queen

This article seems to have been written primarily to delve into the third, BDSM reference, but mixes the others into it too much. Most of the article is expressed in a form where the participant is "forced" or in a passive role. Although this may be true in some contexts, a seperation from the other definitions and an explanation for people who are not in the BDSM culture needs to be made. Atom 14:33, 12 November 2006 (UTC)

Three Categories / Articles?

I believe there should be at least 2, or even 3 articles rather than just this one. Sissification and Feminization should be in seperate articles, and I do not believe the statement in this article "Feminization (AKA: sissification) is accurate at all! Feminization and sissification are NOT synonymous, though for the uninformed this assumption is often made.

Sissification - Turning one into a sissy, with feminine qualities and responses. IE: A whinney little cry-baby sissy. Usually a forced action.

Feminization - The voluntary transformation from male to female, either physically, behaviorally, or both. Either temporarily, or permanently. On it's own this is a 100% VOLUNTARY process, and something enjoyed by the person involved in it. NOT a BDSM type activity.

Forced Feminization - The forcing of a male to take on the behaviors and appearance of a female. Far different than sissification or voluntary feminization. This type of feminization points toward the BDSM category. As part of Forced Feminization Sissification may be included, but it is not essential.

People that are actually involved in these activities take the differences between them very seriously.

Feminization of Names

Why is there so detailed description of how to turn a male name female? That's something that belongs into an article on names. One example ("Stephan" into "Stephanie" or so) should be enough to explain this. --157.161.96.88 14:49, 31 March 2007 (UTC)

Hypnotic feminization a fantasy?

A psychiatrist friend tells me that the Hypnotic Feminization as described in the article is perhaps wishful thinking or fantasy rather than an actually feasible procedure. Doesn't believe such degree of mind control (notably that with the inducing and releasing trigger words)is practicable.Svato 16:12, 4 April 2007 (UTC)
